PeekYou
PeekYou is different from other people search engines. It has a very specific focus. It allows you to search for someone by their online username by looking across a variety of social network websites. PeekYou also focuses its efforts on social network sites in a specific list of countries: the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, India and China.
This is a good site to if you are looking for someone who belongs to a social network community. However, if the person is not a social networker then you are likely to not find anything on a person. One other shortcoming of this site is that it mixes free content with pay-per-view content in a sometimes subtle manner, which can be frustrating for the user.
Final Remarks
This concludes our tour of the best free people search engines. As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, there are many more people search sites out there. Most require registration or some form of payment for anything beyond basic information. As well, many of the other free search engines that we did not mention use either the Intelius or the Pipl search engine. We did not include these sites as it is usually better to go directly to the source site (in this case, either Intelius or Pipl).
One final thing to note is the expected lifespan of a people search engine tends to be rather short. New people search engines appear at fairly regular intervals and older people search engines tend to either disappear or get bought up by a competitor.
